Welcome to my new website where I hope to share a few of the thrilling moments I have experienced in my many travels around the world. This was difficult in my early years as a dental surgeon however as I spent half of my life in a four-wall situation! A Christmas trek in Nepal in 1994 changed everything in my perspective of life and it was at that time I started to take photography and travel much more seriously.

I am drawn to dramatic landscapes particularly and my first experience of the Himalayas, and the poor but seemingly happy inhabitants leading such simple lives, stimulated me to speedily make a change in my life and to give up my original profession. Since then I have had perhaps my happiest years and been to most ends of the earth having been lucky to have visited well in excess of 150 countries to date.

I should say that I have had no formal training in photography and I keep my technique simple - mostly with the use of available light. Always an enthusiastic jazz fan, I commenced jazz photography some 20 years ago during my travels, but the majority of this followed in the past 10 years particularly after the Covid saga ended.
